In the new year, we will be launching Rainbow Pooch Portal, a new online space where our members can connect virtually. Thanks to funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund (TNL Community Fund), we will be offering weekly virtual Pat and Chats series. Each series will welcome a new guest speaker, who through their specialist dog knowledge or practice, will highlight and celebrate the special bond between humans and dogs.
These fun and friendly events encourage members to leave behind their busy daily lives for a couple of hours and drop into ‘dog time’. Our Virtual Pat and Chats offer members a place to connect during these isolated times, provide some end-of-week TLC (Tender Loving Care), and continue to support our #thankyoudogs mission by celebrating dogs as emotional support animals in positive service to the wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ lives. Whether a dog-owner or dog-lover this is an opportunity to say ‘thank you’, not only to yourself for getting through these challenging times, but also to the superheroes in dog-disguise who, without doubt, have been in the background supporting many throughout the pandemic.
In the meantime, Rainbow Pooch Pride wants to say a big thanks to the Government for making this possible and to the TNL Community Fund for seeing the vision. We know that we can bring some light and love to our community in these challenging times. Thank you for believing in us.
